biography
È nato il 4 ottobre 1959 a Düsseldorf. Nel 1980 si è trasferito a Berlino Ovest, dove ha studiato storia, storia dell'arte e teatro. Successivamente ha ottenuto un diploma in paesaggistica. Ha girato i suoi primi documentari nel periodo dell'università. Nel 1993 ha fondato la S.U.M.O Film, con la quale ha scritto e prodotto i cortometraggi Das Sonnenjuwel e The Orange Kiss e il documentario Stravinsky in Berlin.
