Ha studiato biologia e ha lavorato come operatore dal 1997, prima di fondare nel 2002 la casa di produzione Light and Shadow. Ha quindi prodotto e diretto numerosi documentari come Viva Vicuña (2002) e The Falls of Iguaçu (2006).
