biography
Nata e vissuta a New Delhi (sorella, tra l'altro, dello scrittore Vikram Seth) ha lavorato in India, Europa e Stati Uniti, sia come film-maker indipendente che in numerose produzioni cine-televisive. Ha al suo attivo ben 16 documentari, varie realizzazioni audiovisive, e reportage per la radio e la televisione. In ambito cinematografico ha preso parte alla realizzazione di vari film fra cui Fire e Earth (entrambi con la regia di Deepa Metha), Karvaan (di Pankaj Bhutalia, recentemente presentato al Film Festival di Venezia), The Guru (di Daisy von Scherler Mayer) e Stiff Upper Lips (di Gary Sinyor). L'amicizia e collaborazione con Arundhati Roy risale al film In which Annie gives it THOSE ONES…, vero e proprio film “cult” diretto nei primi anni '90 da Pradeep Krishen e scritto/interpretato dalla stessa Roy.
