Ha esordito nel 1998 con il cortometraggio Heidi. Ha quindi diretto opere televisive come Rose (2005), Bummm! (2006) e un episodio della serie Polizeiruf 110, prima di realizzare film come Lila, Lila (2009), Un fantasma per amico (2013) e Grüningers Fall (2014).
