Pinocchio nero

Directed by

The film is about a group of boys from the streets of Nairobi and their emancipation through the theatre, which reveals they have some aspects in common with Pinocchio. The documentary by Angelo Loy is the report on a project by the Teatro delle Briciole from Parma and the director Marco Baliani, together with AMREF; it is followed step by step from the first workshop in Nairobi, to the show's debut in Italy in 2004: it portrays a true back-stage story of an initiation journey through moments of success, crisis and growth.
