About the Movie Memorie del Bosco – Il passato da scoprire

CINESINTESI. Memories of the forest of tomorrow

The CINESINTESI project, Memories of Tomorrow's Forest, aims to produce three short films related to environmental sustainability and the protection of the natural heritage within the Rocchetta Tanaro Natural Park – the first protected area in the Asti area to be included in the European Natura 2000 Network and managed by the Asti Paleontological Park Authority. Each video was created by a group of students from the Natta Higher Education Institute in Rivoli, creatively reusing materials preserved by the Superottimisti Archives, dedicated to the natural world, supplemented with footage shot by the students themselves within the Park.

The three short films form a visual narrative spanning three timelines: the Park's past, present, and future. The result is an episodic film that explores the environmental issues that characterize contemporary and future society, giving voice to the perspectives and opinions of younger generations, and also describes the unique features of the protected natural area, also thanks to the home movies preserved by Superottimisti. Thanks to this archival material, it was possible to delve deeper into cinematic language, family cinema, and video shooting techniques, sparking reflections on the environmental transformations that have occurred over the past century.
