Controcorrente
Directed by
A reporter and an environmental economist travel around Italy to learn about and document the state of the environment, particularly that of water. They are joined by a cameraman when they travel by hybrid automobile, by marine biologists when they set out to sea with fishermen, racking up a total of 6000 km during their tour of the country. They conduct interviews with experts and record the accounts of environmental activists who have been working for decades to preserve the country’s natural heritage.
This grass-roots project compensated the CO2 emissions generated during its making by planting 200 trees at Fontanetto Po in Piedmont, creating a Controcorrente [Countercurrent] woods.

Water
Pure from its source, uncontaminated and bottled in plastic, this essential element is both wasted and sought after like a treasure, too much or too little in a changing world.
