Balamuc – Macello

Directed by

Because there are more than 200,000 stray dogs wandering around the streets in Bucarest, a law that allows killing them has been approved. Every month more than 1300 stray dogs are brutally killed at the city kennels; they are either beaten to death with sticks, strangled with ropes or given an air injection in their bloodstream. In order to prevent the indiscriminate slaughter, Sara Buretta moved to Romania and set up a veterinary clinic. There, working among the poorest communities, she sterilizes animals free of charge.
