biography
Born in Casale Monferrato, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin in 1979. In 1981, he made Boogie, his first animated film, while teaching, holding refresher courses for teachers and workshops throughout Italy, and working as an illustrator and graphic designer. He subsequently directed Garibaldi Blues (1982), Russian Roulette (1985), Nine and a Half Seconds (1987), Dobrodolska Hora (1989), and Fight Da Faida (1993), which received international recognition. A founding member of the production company Lanterna Magica, with which he collaborates as a screenwriter, animator, inbetweener, and soundtrack composer, he has taught at the National Film School in Chieri since 2001.
