Kalatozov
biography
Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1903, in 1925 was admitted to the TbiIisi Film Studios. He worked with Kuleshov (Locomotive No. 10006), Tretyakov and Gerasimov. In 1944 he moved to Los Angeles. Back in URSS becomes Deputy Minister of Cinematography. In 1958 with The Cranes are Flying win the Palme D'Or at Cannes. He died in Moscow in 1973.
