He graduated from DAMS, Bologna, then studied filmmaking at the Civica Scuola di Cinema, Milan. His short, Parole sostenibili (2012), earned him an award at aVisioni italiane, and The Letter garnered him a finalist nomination for the 2014 David di Donatello.
