She is a graduate in philosophy and theology. Her first full-length documentary Let It Come Down: The Life of Paul Bowles (1998) won an Emmy Award. With Nicholas de Pencier she has directed Manufactured Landscapes (2006), Watermark (2013) and Long Time Running (2017).
