He studied architecture and then turned to video essay. He directed Elements (2014), presented at the Venice Biennale, Peter Daler (2019), presented at Milano Design FF and Riders Not Heroes (2020, co-directed with Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli). Montegelato is presented at the last Venice Film Festival.
