biography

He has a university degree in Sociology and Communications. He has worked on numerous development projects in rural India, and has been active in defending civil rights and the peaceful coexistence among communities with different religious beliefs. He has also taught courses in film making at FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) in Pune, at the International School of Cinema and TV in Cuba, and in many Canadian universities. His many documentaries include: We Are Not Your Monkeys (1996), Father, Son and Holy War (1995), In The Name of God (1992), Bombay: Our City (1985).
