biography

Through hypnotic images, accompanied by an evocative soundtrack, the movie explores the daily travails of the inhabitants of the Siberian village of Šologon, located in the heart of the taiga within one of the Russian government's demarcated "zones," remote areas that are difficult to access, sparsely inhabited and, in this case, constantly threatened by fires. In 2021, abandoned by authorities and institutions, the local population is forced to deal with an abnormal heat wave and the consequent eruption of huge fires, witnessing the devastation of millions of hectares of land, both from the rush of the flames and the scattering of ashes. Thus emerges a profound reflection on the relationship between man and nature, where an almost mystical and religious respect for the elements is joined by fear of their destructive power.
