Ha lavorato come cameraman: le sue immagini sono state utilizzate da network quali ABC, Fox, oltre che da Michael Moore per il programma televisivo "The Awful Truth". Successivamente ha fondato la casa di produzione Joe Public Films, per cui ha diretto i documentari Greetings from Missile Street (2001), Defending the Commons (2004) e Worlds Apart: 9/11 First Responders Against War (2005), presentati in numerosi festival e mandati in onda da emittenti di tutto il mondo.
