Ha studiato geologia e montaggio, prima di esordire nel 1997 con il mediometraggio The Tale of Tusu. Ha quindi realizzato diversi film documentari e di finzione come Living in Fairytale (2004), The Home (2005), Erosion (2006) e Bilal (2008).
