biography
Nato in Inghilterra, si è laureato in Storia, per lavorare subito dopo nel cinema. Con il suo primo documentario Radio Bikini (1987) partecipa al Sundance Film Festival e ottiene una nomination per l'Oscar. Negli anni successivi prosegue come produttore, regista, montatore e operatore, raggiungendo, nell?arco di 20 anni, un ampio consenso internazionale con le sue opere. Tra queste va ricordato Guerrilla: the Taking of Patty Hearst (2004), presentato in esclusiva al Sundance Film Festival, con grande successo di pubblico e critica, così come Oswald's Ghost (2007), la sua ultima fatica.
