Nasce a Pollone nel 1884. Fratello dell'esploratore Guido, è il protagonista di un glorioso primato, quello d'aver portato la macchina da presa oltre i 4000 metri. Dirige il Museo Nazionale della Montagna. Muore a Biella nel 1957.
