Josh Tickell, scrittore e documentarista, è specializzato in film con forte messaggio sociale. Esordisce con Fuel (2008), vincitore del Sundance Audience Award e nominato agli Oscar. Con la moglie Rebecca, produttrice, regista e attivista ambientale, realizza The Big Fix (2011), sulla drammatica fuoriuscita di petrolio della BP nel Golfo del Messico, che vince la 15° edizione di CinemAmbiente. Seguono Freedom (2011), Pump (2014), Good Fortune (2015) e Revolution Generation (2019).
