biography
Dopo la laurea all'università di Otago, si trasferisce ad Auckland per frequentare corsi di teatro. Le sue attenzioni si concentrano però sul design. Presto diviene costumista e lavora inizialmente per la televisione prima di passare al cinema, dove creerà costumi per grandi produzioni hollywoodiane e per film neozelandesi di importanti autori come Peter Jackson e Jane Campion. A Fish Tale è il suo primo impegno come regista.
