Madre italiana e padre iraniano, ha lavorato come cameraman, giornalista, conduttore radiofonico e sceneggiatore, prima di esordire nella regia nel 2001 e realizzare, tra gli altri, due documentari su Mario Martone e Paolo Sorrentino. Vive e lavora a Parigi.
