È nato a Napoli nel 1922. La sua attività di giornalista è legata a testate come "L'Avanti", il "Corriere della Sera" e il TG2. È stato direttore dell'ufficio stampa del Quirinale durante la presidenza di Sandro Pertini (1978-1985). È editorialista del "Corriere dello Sport".
