Yervant Gianikian & Angela Ricci Lucchi

Yervant Gianikian, of Armenian origin, born in 1942, studied architecture in Venice. Angela Ricci Lucchi, born in Lugo di Romagna in ‘42, studied painting in Italy and Austria. After moving to Milan, they devoted themselves almost entirely to cinema from the mid-1970s onwards: from the projection-performance of ‘scented films’ they later devoted themselves to reworking, using colouring, toning down, slowing down effects, material mainly from the silent film period.
