biography

Born in Paris in 1953, he moved to Brazil where he studied Social Sciences in São Paulo. In 1976 he started working as a photographer and journalist for some newspapers and magazines such as Folha de São Paulo, Movimento and Coojornal. In these years he founded the Centro de Trabalho Indigenista and publishes A guerrilla do Araguaia. In 1987 he devised and started the project “Video in the Villages”, enabling the natives to shoot their life by themselves. In the '90s he shot many documentaries, which were awarded, including Free-for-all in Sararè (1992), Meeting Ancestors (1993), Video Cannibalism (1995), Jungle Secrets (1998), Indian on Tv (2000).
