biography
She was born and raised in Oxford (England). She studied agricultural science at North Wales University but decided she could learn more from practical experience. In the following ten years she worked all over Europe and America as a peasant, gardener, fruit picker and herbalist. In 1979 she worked as a gardener for Danilo Dolci's Centro Studi e Iniziative in Sicily. Then she studied cinematography with George Stoney and Brian Winstonfor at New York University for a year. She has been directing documentaries for over fifteen years.
