biography
In the late 1980s she began working at the Cadre of Media Resources and Action in Bombay, an organization that produces audiovisual material on social problems. From 1989 to 1991 she worked as camera-woman and assistant director at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, where she made several films, including Learning to Read and Re-write and Janeev. She has collaborated with Anand Patwardan since 1988, and the two have made several films together, including in Memory of Friends, Father, Son and Holy War, A Narmada Diary.
