biography
He was born in Valence, France, in 1945. A musician, trained at Pierre Schaeffer's School of Concrete Music, he has devoted himself to video since 1973, conducting research on color and movement. A great traveler, Cahen has given us impressions from every corner of the world through evocative portraits of landscapes and metropolises, charting new paths to travel reporting and documentary filmmaking. A multiple award-winner, internationally known and appreciated for his not easy balance between abstraction and fiction, use of electronic effects and taste for storytelling, Cahen is also the author of films, photographs and video installations.
