Raffaello
Matarazzo

biography

He has gone through different phases in Italian cinema. His first films go back to the early 40s and, his approach substantially unchanged, continues until the mid-sixties. Great crowd-puller, with films such as Catene, 1949, I figli di nessuno, 1951, Tormento, Chi è senza peccato, 1951 e Torna!, 1954, Matarazzo encodes the melodramatic vein of his stories turning them into faux melodramas.
