biography
Originally from Torino, he is a professor of cultural anthropology at the University of Stockholm, in Sweden. He lived in India for a number of years, where he conducted various research projects, and is considered an expert on cultural anthropology in southern Asia. Author of many publications in his field, he has also been active in diffusing visual materials from his research. He has held photo shows on the modernization of India and the Pakistani perception of mountain spaces along the Indian border.
