He studied at the American Film Institute before working as a television writer, director and producer for networks such as PBS, National Geographic and Animal Planet. He then made short documentaries for non-profit environmentalist organizations. They include Whale Wars (2008), The Buffalo War (2009), winner of numerous international awards, Vlogumentary (2016), and the series Murder Mountain (2018).
