biography
After studying media arts at the University of Keio, she moved from her native Japan to New York in 1998 where she received the M.A. in Media Studies at the New School University. She then made several short documentaries and collaborated as editing assistant on two features Going Under (2004) and LOVE (2005). Makoto has been directing and editing documentaries for the SONY Japan'se broadband streaming video website World Event Village.
