He is an expert in marine mammals; he has traveled to over 100 countries. His work has been presented in National Geographic, CNN, BBC, and the New York Times. He received the Environmental Hero of the Year award for assistance during the 2005 tsunami in southeast Asia and hurricane Katrina.
