He collaborated as an animator on films such as Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Mamoru Oshii, Metropolis (2001) by Rintaro or Paprika (2006) by Satoshi Kon, before making his directorial debut in 1999 with The Wolf Men, followed twelve years later by A Letter for Momo.
