biography

He studied filmmaking at the University of Zurich. His film credits include Das Andere (2007) and Ueli (2008). Immigration, il giardino delle lucciole was made with his father, the artist Francesco Mariotti who began in the 1960s to develop his own style using various media, from performance to video to new technologies. His work is characterized by a strong social engagement; his hybrid gardens, a team effort by artists, biologists, and urban designers, have been shown at biennials throughout Europe.
