He is a film author and director of photography; he has made films for the European Union, UNESCO, UNFPA, GIZ, SNV, and ILO. He travels widely, often to Africa. His debut film Maria (2006) was followed by Our Fathers' Land (2012), Ser Pessoa (2016), and Macoconi – As Raízes dos Nossos Filhos (2017).
