His feature-length directorial debut, Velocità massima, presented at the 59th Venice Film Festival, earned him the 2003 David di Donatello Award for Best New Director. In 2005, L'orizzonte degli eventi, his latest film, was presented at Cannes as part of the "La semaine de la critique" (Critics' Week). He co-directed documentaries by Guido Chiesa (Non mi basta mai) and Davide Ferrario (Comunisti).
