Danièle Lacourse & Yvan Patry

They have shot several documentaries together about the populations in the the world who underwent the tragedy of Civil war: The Dirty War on Nicaragua (1984), Night and Silence on Eritrea and Etiopia (1980), Denial about Salvador (1994), Chronicle of a Genocide Foretold on Rwanda (1996), which won the Chalmers Award and the Hot Docs First Award. All their works have been written, directed and produced independently, thanks to the production company Alter-Ciné founded by them in 1982. Alonso's Dream is the last documentary shot by Yvan Patry before his death on October 14th 1999.
