Bruno
Bozzetto
biography
A world-renowned animator-director, he made his first animated short film Tapum, la storia delle armi, in 1958, immediately attracting strong public and critical interest. Shortly afterwards he created "Signor Rossi, l'omino qualunque", the beloved protagonist of a short-format series. This was followed by the feature films West&Soda (1965), Vip mio fratello Superuomo (1968), Il Signor Rossi cerca la felicità (1975), Allegro non troppo (1976), and numerous short films, including the multi-award-winning Una vita in scatola, Mister Tao, Cavallette, Europa Italia and a long series of popular productions for the programmes Quark and Superquark conceived and presented by Piero Angela. In 1960 he founded Bruno Bozzetto Film, a reference point for artists and filmmakers who contributed to the development of Italian animation cinema, now more active than ever as the Bozzetto&Co. production studio. In 2024 Cinemambiente festival awards him the prestigious Premio Stella della Mole.
